The start of the year, yay!!!
To get all organised for the year is important and if you are starting off organised then that's even better.
Lets start with the school bags......
I used to have them all lined up on the hallway table, was great but did look untidy at times.
Then my husband saw a locker for sale on a Facebook selling page.
It is awesome, it has shelves that we could make any size. So all those at school & preschool have a spot, there is room for me to have a shelf for my camera bag and a shelf for my handbag things.
And it locks.

School books, I actually cheat on this one.
The primary school orders them in for you, I just have to pay for them in the first week.
The high schooler I ordered online, they arrived just before new years.
I don't have to cover the primary school books & the high schooler has decided not to cover hers. YAY winning.....

School clothes....
I start at the oldest child and work my way down the line and that way it is easier to pass clothes down and can see what they need if anything.
I always buy socks for everyone, asking what style each child likes.
Last year I had brought a whole heap of shirts for primary school....I still have a heap left, I store these in my son's wardrobe, so I just go in and grab what I need as needed.
Then school shorts/skorts are stored up in the little girls wardrobe.
The high schooler was really easy.
Being her first year at high school, I had to buy a whole new outfit.
I leave buying shoes until the weekend before.
Two reasons really, they may have a growth spurt and the sales are crazy with great specials.

Drink bottles, lunch bags, pencil cases etc....
Have a look and see who needs new drink bottles, there is always one.
Lunch bags not so much, but I tend to buy a couple of sandwich containers (from Kmart for $2)
Check who needs pencil cases, mainly the high schooler & the year 5, although the year 2 wanted one. (Kmart again $2-$4)
