Now is a good time of year to be doing the filing cabinet.
Its a job that you can do while watching T.V and break it down into smaller jobs, do one drawer or 5 files a night.
Until you have gone through them all.
I have 4 drawers in my filing cabinet.
Two are alphabetically organised for the bills
One drawer has my important documents in it, like your will, passports etc...And a box with my receipts.
One drawer is full of boxes for my cameras, wifi, spare cords, laptop, spare parts to toys. Old computer discs.
The idea is to go through each file and see what needs to be kept and what can go!!
Do you really need to keep all the bills??
I have a warranties file, one for the household stuff and one for toys/kids stuff. Are there any things that you no longer have?
have you labelled the files? It is so much easier when you send the husband in to look for something.
Then once you have worked out what you are throwing, either burn or shred it.
I burn mine on a cold winters day.
